Computer vision R&D and iOS shader development for a popular 3D scanning app.
Briefly in 2021, i was an iOS software development contractor for the popular 3D scanning App Polycam. I have always been a huge fan of mobile 3D scanning, and got to use some of the skills for Lynx Laboratories and Occipital to work on mobile shaders and 3D viewer UI.
I also did some Computer Vision R&D, and prototyped automated 2d ploorplan extraction from the scans. It wasn’t very reliable, and then soon after Apple shipped a really good floorplan thing. so, gg.
Built custom SceneKit shaders for real-time 3D visualization and developed UX prototypes for spatial interaction with scanned environments.
